Building upon the Long Term Athlete/Participant Development (LTA/PD) program developed by Canadian Sport for Life, this new set of fitness charts: Supports physical education curriculum across Canada Integrates with Daily Physical Activity (DPA) initiatives Addresses "Movement Competence and Active Living" expectations Focuses on fundamental movement skills Incorporates Teaching Games for Understanding (TGFU) principles These sturdy charts can be used by teachers to customize cardiorespiratory, speed, agility, balance, and resistance routines to suit their students' current fitness level. Newly designed, these new charts will make it easy for teachers to deliver Daily Physical Activity (DPA) sessions and Fitness Blasts that are safe, fun, and personalized to meet the needs of all students. Set Developers Mel Trojanovic Milena (Mel) Trojanovic has been an elementary school teacher with the Halton District School Board for twenty years, specializing in health and physical education. She is a regular workshop presenter for board initiatives, as well as for CIRA (Canadian Intramural Recreation Association) Ontario projects. Mel has been actively involved in writing and reviewing curriculum and daily physical activity resources for Ophea and the Ministry of Education. She has received the Halton District School Board Award of Distinction and the Ontario Association for the Supervision of Physical and Health Education Teacher Advocacy Award for her tireless efforts in promoting health and well-being to staff and students both locally and provincially. Kirstin Schwass Kirstin Schwass has been actively involved in physical and health education, coaching, and community health for over thirty years. She has a bachelor of physical education and a master’s in psychology of sport. She has taught elementary physical education at Morton Way Public School in the Peel District School Board for thirteen years, where she is the coordinator of the walk to school program, which received the International Walk to School Award.
